Our fishing is fully sustainable and certified by MSC, and we comply with all regulations from WCPFC, FFA and Fiji Ministry of Fisheries monitor fish populations to ensure they remain at healthy levels, focus on processes to reduce bycatch and invest in innovations & technologies to support our sustainable efforts.
Our fishing fleet consists of over 30 vessels, including both fully owned and managed chartered vessels that are operated by Golden Ocean. We operate within the 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zone in Fiji and its neighboring Pacific Island countries
Our fleet operations are based in the capital city, Suva, from which we handle all logistics, services, and supplies to ensure that our long-line vessels are performing at optimal capacity. Our in-house engineering team ensures that our vessels are always in exceptional condition and performs regular maintenance checks in accordance with maritime regulations and guidelines
All our vessels are well equipped with Freezing and Ice slurry facilities, Vessel Monitoring Systems. Some of and our longline vessels also include onboard ultra-low freezer facilities to maintain high quality of sashimi tuna super Freezer facilities.
Our crew and fishermen undergo training on quality assurance procedures prior to joining, with regular training updates, and lucrative performance and quality incentives. They are also trained to minimize the impact of fishing on the environment and to follow ethical and sustainable practices at all times.
We understand that managing a deep fishing longline fleet requires careful attention to many different aspects of the business. From sustainable and ethical fishing practices to crew health and experience, there are many factors that must be considered to ensure the success of the fleet. Our experienced crew members are better equipped to handle the challenges that come with deep fishing, and they are more likely to be able to identify and address issues before they become major problems. Our experienced managers are better able to make informed decisions about everything from fishing methods to maintenance schedules.
We are proud to boast two of the state of the art fish world class processing facilities, one specializing in fresh processing and the other specializing in frozen processing.
Both facilities are audited by the independent external auditors from overseas and visiting overseas government food administrators such as United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and the European Union (EU).
In addition, our fresh and frozen fish processing facilities are also certified by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). We are also audited and accredited by relevant institutions of the government of Fiji (CA).
We provide all year-round production of a few thousand tons of multiple tuna and deep sea fish species per year making us the largest Fresh and Frozen seafood production company in Fiji and the South Pacific islands.
Located just a few minutes away from the main fishing port in the capital city of Suva, our centralized, self-sufficient facilities employ and accommodate over 300 employees, all of whom have been provided with specialist training for their roles as well as ongoing training on quality and safety standards.
We are big on education and innovation and invest in our employees by bringing in specialized trainers from overseas to deliver regular training and up-skilling opportunities.
